Frequently Asked Questions
Is Base64 a form of encryption?
No. Base64 is an encoding scheme, not encryption. It converts binary data into ASCII text but provides zero security. Anyone can decode Base64 back to the original data.
Does this tool support emojis and unicode characters?
Yes. We use the TextEncoder/TextDecoder Web API which correctly handles all UTF-8 characters including emojis, Arabic, Chinese, and other unicode scripts.
What is the file size limit for File to Base64?
The tool supports files up to 1 MB. For larger files, Base64 output becomes very large (Base64 is ~33% larger than the original binary data).
